Battery marking

Model designation: AA / R6P / UM-3; nominal voltage: 1.5 V. The product photograph shows CE and crossed-out wheeled-bin marks. Check the batch and date marked on the individual cell.

Safety information

AA zinc-carbon primary cell (1.5 V). Do not recharge, short-circuit, heat, incinerate, crush, open or dismantle. Insert with correct polarity; do not mix old and new cells or different battery types. Keep away from children. If a cell leaks, avoid contact with the contents and consult the MSDS. Remove exhausted cells promptly.

Waste prevention and management

74(1)(a)

Use the correct size and polarity, keep terminals and the appliance dry, and store unused cells in a cool, dry place away from heat. Avoid mixing old and new cells. Remove exhausted cells promptly to reduce leakage and avoid unnecessary waste. Do not attempt to recharge this primary cell.

74(1)(b)

Collect spent batteries separately from household waste so they can be handled safely and materials such as zinc, manganese and copper can be recovered. Never place them in mixed municipal waste.

74(1)(c)

In Ireland, return spent portable AA batteries free of charge to a retailer that sells batteries or a local civic amenity / recycling centre. Find a nearby collection point at https://www.weeeireland.ie/household-recycling/where-can-i-recycle/ or https://mywaste.ie/. For other countries, follow the local approved battery take-back scheme and collection-point information provided by the seller or local authority.

74(1)(d)

Keep used cells dry and away from children; do not damage, open or burn them. Prevent terminals from contacting loose metal during storage and transport. If a cell leaks, avoid contact with the contents; follow local waste handler instructions. Hand intact cells to a designated collection point.

74(1)(e)

The crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol means the battery must be collected separately from unsorted household waste. CE on the product indicates the manufacturer declares conformity with applicable EU requirements; it is not a recycling symbol. Follow any additional symbols printed on the actual cell or packaging.

74(1)(f)

Improper disposal, littering or damaged cells can release battery materials into soil or water and may expose people or wildlife to irritating or harmful substances. Separate collection and appropriate treatment reduce these risks and allow material recovery.

Additional information

Product composition and fire response are based on PONY MSDS MTI0938G7991087U3, confirmed by the manufacturer for batch LDMAX-L5002(06). The expiry date is stamped on the bottom of each cell and varies by batch.
